MATERIALS

– Yarn (I use Jeans from YarnArt (2 – Fine (Sport, Baby) yarn; 50g/160m), in colors: light yellow, orange & white for the chick and white & light grey for the lamb)
>> You will need less than one skein from each color
– 2.5 mm crochet hook (or in accordance with the yarn you use)
– One pair of 5mm safety eyes for each product
– Polyester fiberfill
– Yarn needles, markers and scissors

ABBREVIATIONS

– MR: magic ring
– ch: chain
– st(s): stitch(es)
– sc: single crochet
– inc: 1 increase = 2 sc in the same st
– dec: 1 decrease = sc 2 together (use the invisible decrease for better result)
– x*: repeat * times
– slst: slip stitch
– (…): stitch count of the row
– BLO: back loops only
– FO: fasten off

EGG

– Use white yarn
– R1. MR with 8sc
– R2. 8inc (16)
– R3. (sc, inc) x8 (24)
– R4. (inc, sc2) x8 (32)
– R5. BLO: (sc7, inc) x4 (36)
– R6. (sc5, inc) x6 (42)
– R7. (sc3, inc, sc3) x6 (48)
– R8-12. sc all (5 rounds)
– R13. (sc7, dec, sc7) x3 (45)
– R14-15. sc all
– R16. (sc13, dec) x3 (42)
– R17-18. sc all
– R19. (sc6, dec, sc6) x3 (39)
– R20-21. sc all
– R22. (sc11, dec) x3 (36)
– R23. (sc2, dec, sc2) x6 (30)
– R24. sc all
– From now on, we will crochet BLO at every round
– R25. (sc3, dec) x6 (24)

– Stuff more if necessary

– FO, leave a long yarn tail then use yarn needle to put the tail through remaining sts (still BLO) and pull to close the hole
* Make Fur:
– Join light grey yarn into the 1st front loop of round 25 (the 1st front loop from the bottom up)
– We will crochet the fur like this: (ch3, slst 1 in next st) – repeat over all front loops alternately from current position back to top of the egg, when you crochet to last st on the top, ch3 for the very last time, break the yarn, tighten the last chain and use yarn needle to sew the remain yarn into the egg

EARs (make 2)

– Use white yarn
– R1. ch2, 4 sc in the 2nd chain from hook (4)
– R2. 4inc (8)
– R3. (sc1, inc) x4 (12)
– R4. sc all
– Flatten then crochet 2 sides together by 6sc
– FO, leave a long yarn tail to sew later

ARMs (make 2)

– Use white yarn
– R1. MR with 6sc
– R2. (inc, sc1) x3 (9)
– R3. sc all
– R4. dec, sc7 (8)
– Flatten then crochet 2 sides together by 4sc
– FO, leave a long yarn tail to sew later
